If you’ve ever stepped into a pet store or browsed the internet for cat products, you know shopping for your cat or kitten can be overwhelming.

There are endless products to choose from which can leave you wondering which are the best

The good news is that your search ends here. After several years of rescuing and raising over 300 cats and kittens, I’ve tried almost every cat product you can imagine.

Through trial and error, I’ve learned exactly what works and what doesn’t. I’ve done the hard part for you so you don’t have to waste any time or money. Now I want to share my favorites!

The following is a list of 10 items that I feel every cat owner should own regardless of age, size, or breed of your cat.

1. BALL TOWERS: All cats need to play and satisfy their hunting instinct. My favorite cat toy for several years now has been a ball tower. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the two listed below are the best bang for your buck.

2. TUNNELS: Cats are obsessed with hiding and squeezing into semi-closed spaces. Tunnels are the blanket forts of the feline world.

4. HEATING PADS: Cats love to feel warm and cozy. Before you consider getting a regular heating pad, remember that heating pads for humans come with risks that pet heating pads have been designed to avoid. The K&H heating pad can’t be beat when it comes to quality and safety.

5. SCRATCHERS: Scratching is a very natural instinct for cats to fulfill for claw health, stress relief, and territory signaling. Keep your cat happy and your furniture safe by keeping a variety of scratchers around your home. The two listed below are the sturdiest and most durable.

7. LITTER GENIE: This product was a game changer for me. It reduces odor, reduces trips to the garbage, and makes litter clean-up quick and efficient. I owe it to the Litter Genie for keeping my house smelling fresh during kitten season. Your cats won’t care, but you will be much happier with this marvelous invention.

8. NUTRICAL: I have tried many supplements through the years, but Nutrical is the winner for me every time. Loaded with essential vitamins and nutrients, it’s a wonderful supplement for giving cats and kittens a health boost. It can be given as a paste, liquid, or mixed with a variety of cat food.

9. CAT TREE: Cat trees may not seem necessary, but I have learned that they are critical for a cat’s overall well-being. They provide stimulation, stress relief, hiding places, scratch pads, and height for your cat. Cats that active and stimulated are less likely to have behavioral issues. Your kitty will sleep, play, and scratch on their trees for years and years!

10. PARASITE PREVENTATIVES: Regardless of whether your cat is indoor only or indoor/outdoor, ALL cats need parasite prevention. Even indoor cats are at risk of parasites because of the potential bugs humans unknowingly bring indoors. Parasites like fleas, ticks, and worms are some of the biggest health threats that can cause your cat permanent damage. Consult with your vet for the best parasite prevention product specifically for your cat.
